Our Story
Hello, my name is Davina Preston, and I am the Owner, Administrator, and Lead Educator of Bloom & Grow Christian Learning Center. I am a wife, mother and stepmother of six children, and now a proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren—and counting!

Bloom & Grow began over twelve years ago in my home after the birth of my youngest daughter. At the time, I was searching for quality, affordable childcare for my own children. As both a mother and an educator, I knew exactly what I wanted: a safe, clean, structured, nurturing environment where children could learn, explore, grow, and be loved.

Unfortunately, many of the options available either did not meet the standard I desired for my children or were financially out of reach. It was during this season that my husband, a high school assistant principal, and I realized that my education, experience, personality, and passion uniquely equipped me to provide the type of care and education I was searching for.
​
My experience as a mother, stepmother, and former second-grade teacher taught me patience, compassion, organization, and the ability to see the unique potential in every child. Those same qualities became the foundation upon which Bloom & Grow was built.
​
What began as a small in-home childcare has grown into something far greater than I could have imagined. Over the years, I have had the privilege of watching children learn, families grow, and lifelong relationships form. I have also grown personally, professionally, and spiritually through this journey.

Expanding Bloom & Grow from an in-home childcare program into a Christian learning center has been more than a business decision—it has been a faith walk, a calling, and a blessing from God. Every step of this journey has required trust, prayer, obedience, and faith. What God has built here is so much bigger than childcare.

At Bloom & Grow, we believe we are called to serve not only children but entire families. Our purpose is to demonstrate the genuine love of Jesus Christ through the way we teach, care for, encourage, and support those entrusted to us. We are committed to helping children discover their God-given gifts and potential while helping families feel seen, valued, and loved.

This work is not simply what I do—it is who God has called me to be. It is my purpose, my ministry, and one of my greatest blessings. For that, I am deeply grateful.

We are committed to nurturing the whole child through intentional learning experiences that support academic growth, character development, creativity, confidence, and curiosity. Through strong partnerships with families and a caring educational community, we help children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success.

Guided by Colossians 3:23, we strive to serve children and families with excellence, integrity, and compassion. We believe children learn best when they feel loved, valued, supported, and encouraged to explore the world around them.

Through faith-based teaching, hands-on learning, positive character development, and strong family partnerships, we help children build confidence, develop a love of learning, and reach their God-given potential.
